Painted in the technique of Pleinair, this piece was created completely on location over the course of one or many days.

Painted at Whiley Slough on a cold winter day. Washington is guilty of having allot of cloudy weather which is a duel edged sword for artists, waiting to see if the sun will reveal itself. For this painting, no such luck and I have to say many years later I appreciate that. The subtle greys and more mutted tones in general create a more camling sence in an area with almost too much texture.
