Painted in the technique of Pleinair, this piece was created completely on location over the course of one or many days.
Painted at Whiley Slough, this is one of the few pieces done in that area where we are not looking back at the park. Instead we are looking West at the Olympic Peninsula area and the puget sound inbetween. My favorite part of painting the area looking in that Western direction is the homes lighting up at the end of the day, creating that small human detail that illudes to so much more then I can paint. You can see traces of more warmth in the color pallet I used, this was my first return trip back to the us after spending time in Mexico, the warmer pallet there has influanced me a great deal.
